September 7 Update
Bad news, folks. Due to a classified-ad spillover in See Magazine this week, Bob didn't appear. Since I don't want to get out of sync on the web site, that means... yes, it means no new cartoon this week. What? What? Come on, give me a break, I work hard for you people. Don't I get a week off? The Onion is constantly going on holiday; I'm taking one week off, sort of.

On the plus side, above please find enclosed the image for the new cover. I took most everybody's advice and nixed the Bob-as-wimp image for something a little less wimpy. Check it out! And then buy it, in a month! Yeah! YEAHHHH!

Okay, I'm out of here. Good luck in school and life, my pretties.

August 31 update, a wee tad late
Sorry folks. Totally forgot it was Friday this week. Um, got a new cartoon, this one made up of some cheap shots launched at Ayn Rand's famous book. Here it is.

And
I like it, so I'm gonna continue to profile Bob's

Other news?
Book, book, book. It's all I can think about right now. If there's a local comic store in your area, be sure to let them know they need to order Everybody Vs. Bob the Angry Flower from Cold Cut Distribution, or it'll be a cold, cold Christmas this year, and not just for me, but for everybody.

August 24 update
Time just keeps grinding on, and though we must all be crushed under its merciless wheels, still we can find some hope in Bob the Angry Flower's

Can't we?

Mid-August update, August 17, 2001
I got a messa comments on the new cover mock-up I put up for a few hours today, and some things to think about when I try to put the thing together for real next week. Thanks to everybody who wrote in, even those people who didn't like the stuff I like.

And here's a cartoon, which would have been the second part of my Bertrand Russell power 2-parter, except that World's cartoon got in the way last week. This week, it's
.

And that's it, for now.

Another update, August 10, 2001
Man, when I'm done this update, I'm soooo gonna fry up some shredded potatoes, and put some bacon in, and some shredded cheese on top. It's gonna be sooooo good. Oh baby.

Uh, right, new cartoon. This week it's all about The World's.

Crammers on the job
It seems everybody noticed that the Cram It! vs. Zest link in the August 3 update was somehow crammed. I'm happy to report it's up and working again, thanks to all that happy nagging.

Back in the U.S.S.A
Even though I was adamant that I was done all my flitting about, I'm gonna do some more flitting yet, to the tune of attending the SPX (Small Press Expo) in Bethesda, Maryland, which turns out to be pretty much smack dab in the middle of Washington D.C. It's in September, from the 14th to the 16th.

And
Work on the third book is flying along, and I should have some more info on that pretty soon.

Now it's August Update - August 3, 2001
Sheesh. Why am I always doing these updates at three in the morning after or while eating a whole bag of baby carrots dipped in ranch and catalina dressing? At any rate, another cartoon. It is called
.
Um... err.. uh...
Nothing further to report at this time.
Back from San Diego update, July 27, 2001
And that makes two -- trips in two weeks, that is. San Diego was a ball, as usual, with this year being the first I got to spend sitting at a table watching people walk by and not buy my books. Incredibly, however, a ton of people did stop and buy my books, and I sold 'em all, all 60 I brought. Whew! That's how to spend a convention, with a sweaty wad of bills in your pocket at the end of each day. Yep. San Diego.

First, we have a cartoon, a trifle that I call
.

Lessee, what else?
Keith Knight, cartoonist for the K Chronicles over at Salon.com and other papers, did his cartoon this week about the trials and opportunities of hanging out with Canadian cartoonists, specifically me. Woo-hoo! I got, like, mentioned in Salon! ASS! Check it out here.

And
The lovely Karen Rutsch, who accompanied Dan Siegler of AskMyDuck.com to the AAN Convention at New Orelans, has some pictures of what that was like, lookatable at this link here. And hey, if any of you San Diego convention-goers reading this have photos, send 'em in. See, somebody's already sent one -- check it out! I'm the one on the right.

Back From New Orleans update, July 18, 2001
Whew, what a trip. I'm a little too sick to get into a big description of it all, but the town sure lived up to its description. Hot girls, constant drinking, lotsa cartoonists and even a few receptive editor-types. Wheeeeee-oo!

And now it's off to San Diego, there to sell books like crazy and drink up as much scif-fi nerd comic culture as possible. But before I go, I'll leave you with a cartoon.

And if you're curious, here's a quick preview of the handout I'll be handing out at San Diego. It's not quite what I wanted, but it's all I had time and energy to create. See you folks in a week or so.
