October 24, 2002 -- HTML Blues
Sometimes, folks, I get a little misty-eyed. Like when
I think about how long I've been drawing this strip, how long this web
site has been around, how long I've been using the crappy built-in Netscape
HTML editor to update it... Yep, the eyes are misty --or do I mean BLAZING
WITH ANGER? Nope, misty.
A cartoon about spaghetti:
What Else?
Well, let's not forget that Christmas is rapidly approaching,
and that means gifts, and that means ordering sweet-like-candy Bob
the Angry Flower books online to give as gifts to family and friends.
Order now and I'll sign them for you. How about that?
And..
Lore Sjoberg's fabulous new book The
Ratings is out. It's funny and illustrated by me, so click the
click
and go check it out and buy a copy or two, again for friends and family.
Who's Lore Sjoberg? Oh, only the head guy behind the Brunching
Shuttlecocks, and much beloved host of angryflower.com. We love Lore.
October 18, 2002 --GODZILLA!!!
Sorry about the quick n' dirty update this week, folks
--I'm too busy playing the new Godzilla game for the Gamecube! So hang
on --you're telling me that in order to play as MechaGodzilla, I have to
complete the game as Godzilla, Godzilla 2000, Anguirus, Rodan, Megalon,
Gigan, Ghidorah, King Ghidorah and Destroyah??? Sheesh! I guess
it's worth it, though...
Anyway, a cartoon...
Also...
Check out the fanklub,
and buy books. That is all.
Oh wait...
I guess the new book by Lore Sjoberg of the fabulous
Bob-hosting Brunching Shuttlecocks,
The
Ratings, is out this Tuesday! With drawings by me in it! Buy it to
laugh!
October 11, 2002: War = Bad
Yeah, I know, it's old-fashioned, it's out of touch with
today's forward-looking policies, but still -- I can't help clinging to
the idea that war is evil. I'm sure I'll snap out of it once the President
makes his case, though...
Anyway war, a totally non war-related strip war, a cartoon
I war call:
Anything else?
Well, I'm updating the site Thursday night in preparation
for my departure for Vancouver on Friday, there to bathe in the hoped-for
comedy riches of the live Mr. Show
show. Woooo! So, let's see. Gotta nag everybody to buy books.
Gotta mention the fan
club (really, I must put some kind of permanent link to the fan club
up on the site somewhere, but I just ain't gotten around to it). Gotta
seethe in frustration at the upcoming mass murder in Iraq. Gotta, um, I
guess that's it. I hope to have something good for y'all soon, though,
so don't pick this week or the next few weeks to decide "Y'know, Bob is
funny and all, but nonetheless I must stop reading it." Don't decide that.
'Cuz man, you'll be crying later.
October 4, 2002 - Countdown to Oblivion
And by Oblivion, I mean Hallowe'en. I still haven't decided
what I'm gonna be yet, but I've got some ideas. Meanwhile, here's a cartoon:
I know, I know...
Gotta give with the content, gotta provide people
a reason to come back every week, gotta think, gotta think... Um,
nope. I got nothing. But on the other hand, isn't it soothing that there
aren't any popups or banner ads on this site? Huh? I mean, yeah, there's
the casino ad in the corner there, but that's for hit stats. And it's tiny!
No, do go on...
We got a Bob the Angry Flower fan
club over here. We got so very many books to
buy, and those who order now will get some of these
fat stickers. We got, uh, nothing super else right this second, though
I can't help but think that book I drew the illustrations for, Lore
Sjoberg's The Book of Ratings, must be coming out pretty soon,
and that it should be rather wicked when it finally appears. Also, there
may be some gussying up of the ol' home page in a bit. We'll see... Oh,
and here's a review I wrote of The
Tuxedo for See Magazine,
though I admit up front the review is not what I would call well
written.
